when to visit
The best time to visit Bali is between April and October, the island's dry season. The average temperature throughout the year is around 30°C with a humidity level of around 85%. It's the perfect time to enjoy the beaches and hotel pools. The rainy season from October to April can bring copious amounts of rain, with fewer tourists, although it's still a good time to shop at the many boutiques, visit the nearby temples and dine at one of the many restaurants.

With a variety of transport options available from Bali Denpasar Airport, getting to your accommodation is easy. Ngurah Rai Airport is located in the south of the island, where most of the main tourist areas and hotels are located. Most hotels offer complimentary transfer services for their guests, so check with the hotel to arrange a transfer. If you prefer, you can arrange a private transfer for a relaxing way to start your Bali holiday. Official taxis are located outside the terminal, with fixed prices listed depending on your hotel destination. Metered taxis can be found outside the airport, which are slightly cheaper, although it is best to stick with the official taxis. It is possible to rent a car if you want to explore further outside Bali.
How to get around in Bali
Getting around Bali is easy, with a variety of transport options to suit your travel needs. Choose from taxis, private drivers, walking, bicycles, scooters or join a tour. Local yellow meter cabs or flat rate blue cabs are easy to hail, or you can pre-book a cab through a ride-sharing app such as Grab. Grab is a cheap, easy and useful way to get around or you can use Bluebird which are official taxis. If you're visiting Jimbaran Bay or Ubud, it's common to negotiate a return fare with your driver. It is possible to hire a private driver for the day if you want to explore further beyond the city and agree on a fixed price for the day. There are local tourist buses operating on 8 routes around the city and an inexpensive way to get around. Bikes are a fun way to get around, just watch out for traffic and walking is easy as most restaurants and cafes are located in close proximity to most hotels.
